SPECIAL SERVICES COORDINATOR

The Special Services Coordinator (SSC) at Cornerstone Christian School makes certain that students with special needs (identified By the school district) receive accommodations that they are entitled to. We provide a quiet environment where students feel safe and are comfortable to come in and take a test, have “documented” one on one time, discuss social skills, study for a test or just share about their weekend.

The SSC is in constant communication with the student’s teachers and review bi-weekly updates on the student’s progress.  The SSC attends all the student’s IEP and/or 504 meetings and also acts as your child’s advocate to ensure that they are receiving the services that they need.

Also, if a teacher sees that there is a child in need, the SSC investigates, contacts the parents and (if the child needs) helps guide the parents through the process of getting their child evaluated by the school district.

The SSC is here to provide the teachers with different class room techniques to reach those students with learning disabilities.
